The brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, Sammy West, has publicly accused her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, of physically assaulting her, following a viral video showing the actress in tears.
In the video, Regina Daniels appeared distressed and surrounded by security personnel as she lamented what she described as constant violence in her marriage.
“In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my house, I am a queen. I cannot stand the violence. It’s too much,” she said.
Reacting to the clip, her brother took to social media to vent his anger, accusing the senator of assault and warning him against further harm to his sister.
He wrote, “It’s very painful that the whole Nigeria will start laughing at my sister Regina. Ned Nwoko beat my sister and hit her head on the wall, then ran away and sent thugs. Anywhere I am and a man touches a woman, I will defend her whether she is my sister or not. Senator Ned Nwoko, you’re lucky you ran after beating my sister again and smashing her head on the wall. I swear I for burst all your jaw.”
His post quickly went viral, drawing thousands of reactions from Nigerians who expressed concern for the actress and demanded clarification from both parties.
Movie producer Stanley On-Top, who first shared the video online, claimed that the senator’s alleged thugs attacked Regina on Friday night but were confronted by her brothers.
According to him, “Thugs were sent to attack Regina last night, but her brothers were there to defend her. It was a terrible scene.”
The video, which has been widely shared across X and Instagram, shows Regina visibly shaken while her brothers confront men believed to be linked to the alleged attack.
Reports also suggest that the actress has moved out of her husband’s home, though her representatives are yet to issue any official statement.
As of the time of this report, Senator Ned Nwoko has not publicly responded to the allegations.
