Media personality Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, popularly known as Nedu, has responded to Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede’s recent criticism with a statement titled “PUBLIC NOTICE: YVONNE JEGEDE AND ATTACKS AGAINST NEDU WAZOBIA.”
In his statement, Nedu addressed Jegede’s social media posts where she criticized him for targeting women’s self-esteem in his podcasts.
The conflict began after Jegede publicly apologized to May Edochie, Yul Edochie’s first wife, for comments she made on Nedu’s podcast, “The Honest Bunch.” Nedu responded to her apology by saying, “If you talk, use your chest stand by your words.”
Nedu’s statement reads: “It has come to our attention that a recent guest on The Honest Bunch podcast, Yvonne Jegede, has resorted to publishing insulting and defamatory material on social media, following what appears to be public outcry against personal thoughts and positions shared by said guest on the show.”
He emphasized that Jegede was not pressured to make any statements on the podcast:
“We would like to make it clear that Yvonne Jegede was not pressured to make any statements on the podcast, and that neither Nedu nor the producers of The Honest Bunch, nor Glitch Africa Studio, takes any responsibility for personal thoughts and positions shared by Yvonne Jegede.”
Nedu also clarified the nature of Jegede’s appearance on the podcast. “We would also like to state clearly that Yvonne Jegede appeared on The Honest Bunch as part of her publicity drive for her upcoming movie. While this was a paid appearance, it does not in any way afford Yvonne Jegede the right to defame or slander Nedu or the producers of The Honest Bunch.”
The statement concluded with a warning to Jegede. “We strongly advise Yvonne Jegede in good faith to desist from further aggravation, personal attacks, name-calling, and vituperation.”
This response comes after Jegede accused Nedu of undermining women in his podcasts and failing to understand the importance of her apology.
She also accused him of focusing on personal messages rather than promoting her movie during her podcast appearance.
