Tunesbid Limited, a Nigerian record label, has accused fast-rising artist AyoMaff of breaching their contract and deceiving the company.

In a press statement, Tunesbid said it signed an exclusive recording deal with AyoMaff, whose real name is Mafoluku Ayorinde Ayodele, on December 2, 2023.

The agreement was signed through the artist’s management, OceanStreet Creative Limited, led by Oyefeso Oluwamayowa Olumide, Okolie Arnold Chiedu, and Oyefeso Ayotunde.

According to the label, it spent huge amounts of money promoting AyoMaff and his music, which helped him rise to fame within six months. Tunesbid said it fully funded the release of his singles like Street Anthem, 7 Days, and Dealer, which attracted international attention.

The label revealed that a major distribution company, Empire Distribution, offered to distribute two EPs for AyoMaff and made an upfront payment to Tunesbid. But the label said AyoMaff and his management secretly held separate meetings with Empire and later refused to sign the deal.

Tunesbid said the artist’s management stopped communicating after the label had financed recordings for the EP project meant for Empire. The company claimed the artist and his team left the label premises without submitting the songs.

The label stated that on May 17 and May 30, 2024, AyoMaff’s management sent letters expressing their intention to leave the agreement, barely six months after signing.

Tunesbid said its legal team, Zaeda Oracle, rejected the breach attempts and false claims by the artist’s team. The label added that all efforts to settle the matter amicably failed, prompting them to seek legal steps.

“We wish to make it clear that AyoMaff is still bound by the contract with Tunesbid Limited. Any claim to the contrary is false,” the statement said.

Tunesbid also warned promoters and entertainment companies like RoadMan Ent, Make Da Melanin Group, AfroVibes Sheffield Ent, and lXMedia Ent to stop working with AyoMaff without the label’s approval or face legal consequences.
