Former Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations, Honourable Abdulmumin Jibrin, has revealed the reason behind the invasion of his office by the National Assembly’s Sergeant At Arm.
He said the act was carried out to steal and destroy evidence of the gross misconduct and corruption carried out by the leadership of the House of Representatives on the 2016 budget.

Jibrin added in a series of tweets on Friday that the invasion is inconsequential since there are enough evidence to prosecute the case already.
“Though we already have enough evidence for prosecution, volume of 2016 budget documents and 53 files were carted away and handed to Speaker,” he tweeted.

The lawmaker who was recently suspended for 180 legislative days from the House lamented that he has now become vulnerable in the face of threats to his life and some of the security personnel attached to him have been withdrawn.
The Kano State Reps member also called on all concerned to focus on rooting out corruption in the country instead of victimising him.
