A viral video captures the amusing moment when Greek-Nigerian basketball star Giannis Antetokounmpo, during his 2023 visit to Nigeria, purchased a knock-off version of his own jersey from an unsuspecting trader in Lagos’ Balogun Market.

The incident, featured in the recently released documentary “Ugo: A Homecoming Story,” showcases Giannis casually negotiating the purchase without revealing his identity.

Social media has been buzzing with excitement since the documentary’s release, highlighting the humorous and heartfelt interaction between Giannis and the jersey seller. In the video, Giannis recounts the experience, stating, “The guy had no idea who I was.”

Exiting his car, Giannis engaged in a playful bargaining session, emphasizing that the trader recognized the name “Giannis Antetokounmpo” but failed to realize he was dealing with the NBA All-Star himself. Giannis described the encounter as an “even crazier experience.”
