There was a mild drama in Jaba, Kaduna State where the marriage of an underage ‘couple’ took place.
The photos of the union, which later surfaced on the internet has shocked Nigerians and set many tongues wagging on social media.
The young-groom, Julius Funom, who is believed to 11-years-old allegedly tied the nuptial knot with another girl identified as Anthonia Mihas HAM on December 9.
The news was shared by a Facebook user, Bagayang Innocent Vincent, on his Facebook wall.
Bagayang, whose account was bombarded by angry social media users, claimed the wedding held in Jaba area of the state.
He said, “The wedding was awesome and colourful. Julius Funom & Anthonia Mihas.
“HAM (JABA) kaduna state 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
“You must see wonders once the price of ginger is higher.”
Reacting to the development, a representative of Ahmadu Bello University’s Students Union Government, Bartholomew Gyosmen frowned at what he called abuse.
He said, “Kai which kind children abuse be this one.”
Another user, Abdulraheem Niyi, quipped “What is the motive behind this?”
An anonymous writer wanted to know why the duo was not allowed to finished their education before being encouraged to take the plunge.
“I blame the parents for allowing the marriage to take place, why can’t they allow them to finish school before venturing into marriage ,What did this children know about marriage?” he asked rhetorically.
However, a self-employed Facebook user, Mary Aplah was indifferent.
“Beautiful! Congratulations to the both of them,” she said.
