Enugu State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has sympathized with victims of the rainstorm that occurred, on Monday evening, at Agbogugu in Awgu Local Government and Ugbawka in Nkanu East Local Government Areas of the state.
Reports said the rainstorm destroyed no fewer than 100 homes, schools, a large poultry and other public facilities in the affected areas.
The governor has directed the Enugu State Emergency Management Agency, which had earlier visited the disaster scenes, to commence immediate response by providing shelters and relief materials to the affected persons.
Ugwuanyi assures those affected by the disaster that his government will do everything possible to protect and provide them with the necessary assistance to cushion the effect of the loss.
The governor also assures people of the state of his administration’s commitment to their welfare and security of lives and property.
