Istanbul Basaksehir’s assistant coach Pierre Webo has thanked Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, club president Goksel Gumusdag, and others for their support in the racism row involving a UEFA fourth official.

Recall that the former Cameroonian international accused Sebastian Coltescu of using racist language during their Champions League game in Paris on Tuesday.

This lead to the suspension of the Champions League match after players and coaches from both Paris Saint-Germain and Basaksehir abandoned the match.

Speaking afterwards, Webo said that “As a holder of a UEFA pro license, I think that he (Coltescu) crossed the line in terms of their values.

“I would like to thank all those who supported me on this day, December 8. So, I say ‘thank you Mr President’ (Istanbul Basaksehir club president Goksel Gumusdag).
