Qatar 2022: Some people are looking for venue, Amokachi shades Ghana
Super Eagles legend, Daniel Amokachi, has thrown a dig at Ghana ahead of this month’s Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifying play-off tie against Nigeria over the poor state of their pitch.
The Black Stars are at crossroads over the poor state of the Cape Coast Stadium, the venue of the first leg on March 25.
With 10 days to go to the first leg, The PUNCH reported that the stadium which is currently undergoing rehabilitation was damaged during the government’s celebration of the country’s 65th independence anniversary on March 6.
According to reports in Ghana, the condition of the pitch might warrant the game to be moved to another venue in either Accra or Kumasi.
While the Ghanaians are yet to decide on the venue for the crunch ties against Augustine Eguavoen’s Super Eagles, Amokachi boasted of Nigeria’s readiness for the second leg.
He shared a video of the beautiful M.K.O Abiola National Stadium Abuja but while giving a 360-degree view of the pitch, Amokachi said, “some people are still looking for a venue… you know who I’m talking about.”
