The Police Service Commission has reaffirmed that recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force is completely free of charge.

The commission cautioned prospective applicants to remain vigilant against job racketeering, fraudulent schemes, and any attempts to solicit money in exchange for recruitment assistance.

In partnership with the NPF, the PSC has fixed April 28 to April 30 for the written examination phase of the ongoing constable recruitment exercise.

The examination, which applies to both General Duty and Specialist cadres, will take place at designated centres across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Command, SP Abimbola Adebisi, candidates in Lagos will sit for the test at the Police College Ikeja.

She disclosed that the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Fatai Tijani, advised all qualified applicants to comply strictly with examination guidelines, arrive early at their centres, and conduct themselves in an orderly manner throughout the process.

“The PSC will not tolerate any form of fraud in the recruitment process. Anyone found engaging in such illegal activities will face the full weight of the law,” she said.

Ms Adebisi further clarified that only candidates who had successfully completed the physical and credential screening stages would be permitted to participate in the written examination.

She also noted that eligible applicants must access the official recruitment portal starting April 24 to print their examination invitation slips, which contain details of their scheduled date, time, and venue.

Additionally, she outlined the required materials for the examination, including a pen, a National Identification Number slip issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) bearing a clear photograph, and a printed examination invitation card.

“Candidates are expected to appear in white shorts, white T-shirts and white canvas shoes,” she added.
