Protesters kick against rejected women bills, block National Assembly gate
Dozens of protesters, largely women, have blocked the entrance to the federal secretariat axis entrance of the National Assembly on Wednesday to protest the lawmakers’ refusal to accommodate more women in its chambers.
The protesters, led by a women group, have shown no sign of vacating the area as they demanded to see the leadership of the National Assembly.
Although the protesters were not granted access into the National Assembly complex as security agencies shut the gate against them, the women held their ground until they meet the NASS’ leadership.
