The management of the Bayero University Kano has ordered the immediate halt of all academic activities at the institution.

This decision was made known in an official statement issued on Monday by the Deputy Registrar, Public Affairs, Lamara Garba, acting on behalf of the Acting Registrar.

The statement partly said: “After a careful review of the situation in Kano State as a result of the National Protest, the University Management has directed that all scheduled lectures should be suspended forthwith.”

The University Management expressed appreciation to the members of the university community for their support and collaboration in fostering a tranquil environment throughout its campuses.

Once normal conditions are restored, all academic and administrative functions will be reinstated in their entirety, the statement noted.

Students living on the campuses are encouraged to remain composed and adhere to the law, as sufficient measures have been established to guarantee their safety.

“The Management, in particular, is concerned with the safety of lives and property and, therefore, enjoins the members of the University community to continue to be cautious about their movements outside the campuses to avoid exposure to any possible danger,” the statement added.
