Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin of Mercyland Church in Warri, Delta State has splashed N2 million on Stephanie Idolor, the lady who filmed little Success Adegor after she was sent home from school because of exam fee.
WuzupNaija recalls that an angry success had, in the video, stated that she preferred getting flogged to being sent away from school. The video went viral and celebrities, politicians and other Nigerians splashed cash on the kid, changed her school and gave a scholarship.
However, Stephanie Idolor felt she wasn’t appreciated enough for the part she played in changing Success’ story and complained in an interview with one mainstream newspaper.
Ms Idolor, who joined the Batch A 2019 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), had stated that she simply wanted the family to show appreciation for the video she made public.
Asked how many per cent share she wanted, she said:
“Well, I was not really talking about sharing percentage with them. I was not really saying I would get 30-70, 40-60, or 50-50, I just want them to show a little appreciation.
“Like if you’ve actually made N5 million, at least N1 million should not be enough for someone that made this whole thing happen, for someone that made this whole story viral.”
Her complaint seems to have reached the right ears with Prophet Fufeyin gifting her N2m cash.
Wuzupnaija also recalls that the Delta state deputy speaker, Hon. Friday Osanebi, requested for Idolor’s account number with the promise to credit her with a sum of N500,000.
