Anthony Joshua

As the world awaits the December 12 world heavyweight title fight between Anthony Joshua and Kubrat Pulev, there is also the big question of prize money.

Joshua’s WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO titles will be on the line when he faces his Bulgarian mandatory challenger, on Saturday at Wembley’s SSE Arena.

After 24 fights and 23 wins (21 have been by way of knockout), Joshua has just one defeat record and the same goes for Pulev who has only one defeat after 28 career fight with 14 knockouts.

But while the exact amounts the individual fighters will earn from the bout has not been revealed, The Independent reports that it is believed the British world champion will earn in the region of £10 million from the fight.

Pulev, according to the report, is expected to make in the region of £3m.

However, both fighters could exceed those figures as pay-per-view numbers are expected to be higher than normal given the lack of spectators allowed at the event.

Joshua’s sole defeat came at the hands of Andy Ruiz Jr in June 2019 while Wladimir Klitschko handed Pulev his only defeat in 2014.
