A private jet carrying approximately 10 individuals, including Very Important Personalities, crash-landed in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

The incident occurred around 11 am at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport on Friday.

The jet, registered as N580KR, reportedly overshot the runway, making a safe landing in a nearby bush.

Emergency responders, including firefighters and rescue officials from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, were swiftly deployed to the scene.

Fortunately, there were no reported deaths or casualties.

A spokesperson for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Carol Adekotujo, confirmed the news to Channels TV “It was a private plane from Abuja. It landed safely but overshot the runway. There was no casualty.”

The incident adds to the recent concerns over aviation safety despite changes in leadership within aviation agencies.

In November, Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu survived a plane crash at the same airport. The circumstances surrounding these incidents highlight the ongoing challenges in maintaining air travel safety.
