Nigerian TikTok sensation, Habeeb Adelaja, widely known as Peller, has revealed the hefty sum he spent on asoebi fabric for the highly publicized JP2025 traditional wedding of Priscy and Tanzanian singer Juma Jux.
The lavish event, held on April 17, 2025, drew widespread attention on social media as celebrities showed up in striking styles made from the designated asoebi material.
Among them was Instagram influencer Papaya Ex, who notably had the groom’s face printed on her outfit. In line with Nigerian tradition, the asoebi signified a guest’s close relationship with the couple.
Speaking during a TikTok live session with Sandra Benede, Peller shared the experience he and his girlfriend, Jarvis, had when trying to purchase the fabric. According to him, they made their interest known late and were told the material was nearly sold out. As a result, they were only able to secure two yards.
Despite the limited quantity, Peller disclosed the cost was unexpectedly high. In his words: “You know how much dem sell two yards sef? Just two yards oo, almost N300,000.”
His revelation has sparked conversations online, with many weighing in on the growing trend of expensive asoebi at celebrity weddings.
