Princess Diana’s photographer Demarchelier dies aged 78

Iconic fashion enthusiast and Princess Diana’s personal photographer, Patrick Demarchelier, is dead.

Demarchelier died on Thursday at age 78.

The news which was announced on his Instagram reads: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick Demarchelier… at the age of 78. He is survived by his wife Mia, his three sons Gustaf, Arthur, Victor and three grandchildren.”

According to Page Six, he passed away in Saint-Barthélemy, an Island on the eastern Caribbean Sea.

During his career, Demarchelier worked at Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and became Princess Diana’s personal photographer.

The Frenchman was the first non-British lensman to be engaged for the royal family’s photoshoot and had gone to shoot famous subjects including Madonna, Gisele Bündchen, Hillary Clinton, Nicole Kidman, Kate Moss and many more.
