The kingmakers of Iseyin, a local government area in Oyo State, have chosen Prince Olawale Semiu Oyebola as the new Aseyin of Iseyin.
The selection process took place at the king’s palace on Tuesday under the supervision of local government officials and security operatives, including Western Nigeria Security Network personnel, Amotekun, to ensure order and safety during the selection process.
Prince Oyebola, 53, works and lives in the United States of America with his family, won the majority of votes from the 10 kingmakers who participated in the voting process.
Prior to his ascension to the throne, he had been involved in the welfare of the community through his education foundation, which provides scholarships to indigent students of tertiary institutions.
Oyebola will be the 30th Aseyin of Iseyin, following the death of his predecessor, Dr. Abdganiy Salawudeen Adekunle Oloogunebi Ajinese 1, who passed away in 2022 after 15 years on the throne.
