A close friend to late artist, Ilerioluwa Aloba widely known as Mohbad, Owodunni Ibrahim, also known as Primeboy, has vehemently denied allegations made by Abosede Adeyemo-Aloba, the mother of the late singer.

In a publicized online interview, Mohbad’s mother accused Primeboy of having altercations with her son, claiming that he frequently complained about being neglected after Mohbad’s rise to stardom.

She further implied that after Mohbad’s death, Primeboy was advised to flee to avoid suspicion regarding his involvement.

In response, Primeboy, through a statement released by his lawyer Akinpelu Ogunbona, dismissed these claims as defamatory and malicious.

According to the statement, Primeboy’s reputation has been severely impacted by the accusations, which have eroded the affection and support he previously enjoyed from his fan base.

“In the said interview, you alleged that our client always fought the late Mohbad and consistently complained about his neglect by the late Mohbad since the said late Mohbad rose to stardom,” the statement read.

It added, “Your actions are deliberate to injure and traduce the integrity of our client who is a rising star in the music industry.”

The statement emphasized that Primeboy did not have any altercation with Mohbad and demanded that Mohbad’s mother retract her statement within seven days.

Primeboy has however threatened legal action should she refuse to retract her statement.

Ogunbona further noted that Mohbad’s mother’s claims were not only false but harmful to Primeboy’s career, which is gaining momentum in the music industry.

Efforts to reach Mohbad’s mother for a response were unsuccessful as of Sunday evening, with no replies to calls or messages.

This development comes amid ongoing investigations into Mohbad’s death. Mohbad, aged 27, passed away on September 12, 2023, under suspicious circumstances that sparked widespread debate on social media.

His sudden death has led to multiple arrests, including controversial figures such as Naira Marley and Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu, better known as Sam Larry.

Mohbad’s body was exhumed on September 21 for an autopsy as part of the investigation into the cause of his death.

Primeboy’s legal team has also raised issues in court, questioning statements made by Mohbad’s wife regarding an alleged fight at their residence. According to Ogunbona, new revelations are necessary to clarify the nature of events leading to the singer’s death.

The ongoing case continues to captivate public attention, with many eager to learn the truth behind Mohbad’s passing.
