Founder of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Lagos, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has issued a prophetic warning to several Nigerian governors, cautioning them that their bids for a second term in office are not guaranteed.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, and made available on Sunday, August 3, the cleric revealed that governors from Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Delta, Enugu, Ondo, Zamfara, and Kaduna must not take their return to office for granted.
He urged them to combine hard work with fervent prayer in order to secure their political futures.
“The governors of Akwa Ibom, Delta, Enugu, Cross River, Kaduna, Zamfara, and Ondo must work well to get a second term in office. It’s not certain for them except they work hard and pray. This is a hint of what they should be expecting,” Ayodele stated.
“They need to work very well so that they won’t lose their second-term ambition.”
Primate Ayodele also directed his caution toward Senate President Godswill Akpabio, advising him to be vigilant and spiritually prepared in order to retain his leadership position in the Senate.
“Senate President Godswill Akpabio must be very careful and prayerful to get a second term as senate president. I see his position being traded; he must work very hard to avoid it,” he said.
In a broader warning, the cleric predicted that several prominent senators and members of the House of Representatives would fail to secure re-election. He specifically advised Delta lawmaker Senator Ned Nwoko to reconsider any immediate plans to contest for governorship, saying, “it is not yet his time.”
The list of governors mentioned by Primate Ayodele includes Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom), Bassey Otu (Cross River), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Peter Mbah (Enugu), Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), and Uba Sani (Kaduna).
