The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has issued a stark warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, cautioning that a second term in office could trigger a coup attempt aimed at removing him from power.
The warning was made during the unveiling of Ayodele’s annual prophecy book titled “Warnings to the Nations (2025/2026)”, held on Saturday, July 5, 2025.
Primate Ayodele claimed that a plot involving high-ranking military officers may emerge should Tinubu secure a second term.
According to him, those opposed to the president’s return would stop at nothing to ensure he is unseated.
“Some army officers will be paid to arrange how to interfere in Tinubu’s government. If he eventually wins the second term, they will use everything to take him out of power, including an attempted coup,” the cleric stated.
He further advised President Tinubu to scrutinize his current security setup and consider making changes, warning of possible betrayal within the ranks.
“I see an attempt to take power from him (Tinubu) in an unconstitutional manner. So, God warns him to take his personal safety very seriously. What I saw was a coup-like situation, and tension everywhere,” Ayodele warned.
Commenting on the spiritual dimension of the president’s persona, Ayodele offered a mystical perspective, likening Tinubu to a reincarnated figure with significant spiritual influence, surpassing even past Nigerian leaders.
“He is not an ordinary being; he is like a poison that you can’t eat and get away with alive, and he is more spiritual than Obasanjo and others, but many politicians don’t understand these mysteries about him,” he added.
