Pray for us, Davido pleads as Appeal court decides Adeleke, Oyetola’s fate on Thursday
Nigeran music star, Davido, has urged Nigerians to pray for his uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke as the court of Appeal decides his fate on the Osun governorship election, on Thursday.
The Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal had fixed Thursday to deliver judgment on the dispute arising from the September 2018 governorship election in Osun State.
WuzupNaija reports that the state Governorship Election Petition Tribunal on March 22, 2019 nullified Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s victory at the September 2018 poll and declared Adeleke of the PDP winner.
Oyetola of the APC and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had approached the appellate court asking it to upturn the March 22, 2019 majority judgment of the tribunal, while the PDP and its candidate, Senator Adeleke, who were declared winner of the election by the tribunal, urged the Court of Appeal to affirm the tribunal’s judgment.
After the tribunal declared Adeleke winner in March, an elated Davido had taken to social media to widely jubilate and celebrate the judgement.
As the court prepares to deliver judgement tomorrow, a jittery Davido went spiritual and took to Twitter to quote a news report about Thursday’s ruling, urging Nigerians to pray for his uncle’s victory.
He tweeted:
Pray for us !!! God is bigger than all of them https://t.co/46GB0NSGbP
