Portable, Speed Darlington set for boxing match in Lagos

Controversial musicians Portable and Speed Darlington are set to settle their differences in a celebrity boxing match.

The fight will take place on April 18, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos.

Their dispute began in March when Speed Darlington offered Portable N500,000 to perform at his show. Portable rejected the offer, calling it an insult and mocking Darlington for being “poor.”

“You are inviting me for a show, and you don’t have money. You use my name to promote your show. I charge N20 million, ask around. I don’t know that you are poor. I don’t want to be friends with poor people,” Portable said.

In response, Speed Darlington expressed regret over the offer.

“I regret it because why the insults?” he said.

The argument escalated when Portable challenged Darlington to a fight, saying he would defeat him just as he did to actor Charles Okocha in a previous boxing match.

Due to popular demand, the fight has now been arranged. The event organizer, Mygamerush, confirmed the match on Instagram.

“You asked and now it is here. Two street kings battle for ultimate street supremacy,” the announcement read.
