Nigerian street-hop artist Habeeb Olalomi Badmus, widely known as Portable, has taken to social media to call out fellow musician Ric Hassani over their recent collaboration on the track 4x2x16.

The controversy stems from Portable’s dissatisfaction with the payment he received for his contribution to the song.

According to Portable, the agreement for the collaboration was brokered and finalized by his manager.

However, following the track’s success, he now feels undercompensated and insists he deserves more. In his words, the attention and buzz generated by his verse merit a higher payout than what was initially agreed upon.

Citing a previous collaboration with UK rapper Skepta, Portable claimed that Skepta had personally contacted him to commend his performance, further validating his self-assessment as a valuable feature artist.

In a recent video making the rounds online, Portable addressed Ric Hassani directly, demanding an extra ₦5 million and “Canadian loud” — a slang term for premium cannabis — as part of what he believes he is owed.

He also warned Hassani not to exploit his impact on the song’s popularity, asserting his contribution was pivotal to its traction.

“Don’t use me blow,” Portable said bluntly, making it clear he believes he deserves recognition and reward for boosting the track’s reach.

The online community has since reacted to the unfolding drama. While some fans criticized Portable for what they described as greed and unprofessionalism, others took issue with Ric Hassani’s decision to collaborate with an artist known for controversy. The situation has sparked a wider conversation about compensation, professionalism, and artist branding within the Nigerian music industry.
