Popular street-hop singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has lashed out at social media commentator Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan for attempting to involve him in a diss track against gospel singer Mercy Chinwo.
VDM had recently announced plans to release a track titled Body of Christ in response to Chinwo’s N1.125 billion defamation lawsuit against him.
The lawsuit was filed after VDM accused the gospel singer of misappropriating funds from her shows without remitting them to her former record label.
Reacting in an Instagram post on Saturday, Portable expressed outrage over VDM’s request, warning him to stop mentioning his name.
“You are already overstepping your boundaries, VDM or whatever you are called, you are overstepping,” he said.
“Stop talking about me, do not mention my name. You defame people, you are among those people who defame celebrities online.
“You defame rich people. You defame people who carry grace and glory, defame people’s business and marriages. You just come from nowhere… You said that we should sing, do you have N100 million in your account to feature me?”
Portable, known for his outspoken nature, accused VDM of damaging the reputations of individuals, businesses, and marriages through his commentaries.
His reaction has further fueled conversations around VDM’s ongoing controversy with Chinwo and the wider debate on online defamation.
