Popular content creator, Kuye Oghenevwede Adegoke, known as Egungun of Lagos, is at the center of a blackmail scandal after a private video of him surfaced online.
The video, now circulating on social media, shows Egungun on a video call with an unidentified woman. During the call, he is seen brushing his teeth and briefly exposing himself while wearing shorts.
The controversy erupted just hours after his wife, Pashotah, revealed that an unnamed blackmailer had threatened to release a private video of her husband unless paid 20 million naira.
In a statement posted online, Pashotah defended her husband and their marriage, dismissing the blackmail as an attempt to tarnish their relationship. “My husband has never cheated on me before (vice versa). This relationship is built on trust, understanding, loyalty, and commitment,” she said.
Pashotah explained that the leaked video was originally a private message between her and Egungun, shared without their consent. “This will not break my marriage because we are built on a foundation stronger than scandals,” she declared.
She also shared screenshots of the blackmailer’s threats, where they warned, “Once he starts trending, you will be ashamed of yourself.”
Despite this, Pashotah expressed confidence in her husband’s faithfulness and vowed not to let the scandal affect their marriage.
The scandal has sparked heated debates on social media. Some users praised Pashotah for standing by her husband, while others criticized her defense.
