Pope Francis will not lead the Angelus prayer on Sunday for the second week in a row as he remains in the hospital for pneumonia treatment, the Vatican announced on Saturday.

The Vatican press office confirmed that the Pope’s message would be published but not read out, just like last weekend.

Francis, 88, was admitted to Rome’s Gemelli hospital on February 14 with bronchitis, which later developed into pneumonia in both lungs. His condition raised concerns worldwide about his health.

Doctors provided an update on Friday, stating that while his condition was serious, there was no immediate threat to his life. However, they warned that he was “not out of danger” yet.

The Vatican’s latest statement on Saturday morning simply noted, “Pope Francis rested well.”
