Hundreds of people on Saturday thronged the home of the Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, David Rogers Irimagha, after the news of his death went viral.

Irimagha, an engineer, was among the second term chairmen inaugurated on April 2021 after Rivers local government election.

Although the cause of his death could not be determined as at the time of filing this report, sources disclosed that he died in his sleep on Saturday.

One of the sources, who spoke in confidence, said that the entire council had been thrown into mourning.

“He was found dead in his sleep this morning,” he said.
