Police take over Cross River Assembly after court sacked 20 lawmakers
Less than 24 hours after the sack of 20 lawmakers on Monday, armed policemen have taken over the Cross River State House of Assembly on Tuesday morning.
WuzupNigeria reported that the lawmakers were sacked by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, led by Justice Taiwo Taiwo for defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party to the ruling All Progressive Congress.
However, movement into the Assembly complex on Diamond Hill has been restricted on Tuesday, according to The PUNCH.
Police operatives, including officers from the anti-kidnapping squad, were spotted around the routes leading to the House of Assembly.
