Buhari endorses Andy Uba as APC governorship candidate in Anambra

Ahead of the November 6 governorship election in Anambra State, the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) on Tuesday presents the All Progressives Congress flag to the party’s candidate, Senator Andy Uba in Abuja.

The ceremony which took place at the State House was graced by some of the party’s chieftains.

Channels TV reported that five other governors were also present at the meeting.

A statement issued by Buhari’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, the president met the Anambra APC governorship hopeful on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja along with APC Caretaker and Convention Planning Committee and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni.

Adesina also noted that the president is anxious for the party’s success in the election.

“I certainly wish you the best of luck. I’m anxious for your success, and will closely follow,” the statement partly read .

Reacting to the president’s gesture, Uba disclosed that he was surprised by the public endorsement of Buhari.

He further added that there had been series of meetings between the Uba family and the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma to straighten grey areas.
