Bandits abduct lawmaker’s wife in Katsina
Gunmen suspected to be bandits have kidnapped the wife of a member of Katsina State House of Assembly, Dr Ibrahim Kurami.
The news of her abduction was tweeted by Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna lawmaker, in the early hours of Sunday.
Katsina State is President Buhari's home State.
While bemoaning the heightened state of insecurity on the country, Sani called on the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) to save Katsina from the hands of bandits and kidnappers who seemed to have taken the state hostage.
His tweet read: “While the elder brother of the Katsina state Secretary to the Government is still in the hands of bandits, the terrorists have struck again this night and kidnapped the wife of a member of State House of Assembly Dr Ibrahim Kurami.
“It’s time for the President to save Katsina state.”
Daily Post reported that the worsening state of insecurity in Katsina and most parts of North has continued to cause panic in the nation.
The state lawmakers recently broke down in tears while lamenting the increasing state of insecurity in Katsina State.
They appealed to the government to take a new approach to solving insecurity in the state and act fast before bandits destroy more communities and lives.
