After an otherwise long break from social media, Nigeria's First Lady, Aisha Buhari is in the news again for taunting the country's Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Ali Isa Pantami.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, the First Lady shared a video showing Pantami shedding tears during a sermon.
The minister burst into tears after his reciter read a verse from the Holy Quran.
According to the video, the reciter read from Surah Maryam, Verse 63 which says, “That is the Garden we shall give as their own to those of Our servants who were devout.”
In response, an emotional Pantami cried out saying, “O Allah! Make me one of them. O Allah! Make me one of them!”
Aisha Buhari then captioned the video, “A chire tsoro a yi abinda ya dace” which can be interpreted as “Be courageous to do the right thing.”
It is unclear why the First Lady posted this video, which is currently generating attention on social media.
However, Aisha Buhari's post comes three weeks after Pantami joined Yusuf, her son, with Zahra Bayero, at Bichi Central mosque in Kano.
