2023: Osinbajo’s ‘Judas the betrayer’ poster goes viral on Good Friday

Published

A poster depicting Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as Judas Iscariot has gone viral on social media on Good Friday, April 15, 2022.

The poster which had a photo of the presidential aspirant and the text “the Judas who betrayed his master” was reportedly spotted in some parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

“…repent because Jesus is coming,” the poster read.

Recall that Osinbajo has been branded a betrayer, especially by a former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, since he announced that he will be contesting in the 2023 presidential election.

“I am today, with utmost humility formally declaring my intention to run for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the platform of APC,” he said in his official declaration on April 11th.

Osinbajo’s comparison with Judas who betrayed Jesus Christ is not far fetched because he contesting for the country’s hot seat as his political father, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

During Tinubu’s time as the Governor of Lagos State, he appointed Osinbajo as Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General of the state from 1999 to 2007.

Tinubu who is a national leader of the APC had been reported to have played a major role in Osinbajo’s emergence as the running mate of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari(retd) in 2015.

Subsequently, Omokri warned Buhari that Osinbajo would end up backstabbing him as well if he becomes the president in 2023.

“If Osinbajo can stab Tinubu, who God used to make him what he is, in the back, then Buhari better hope he never becomes President. Backstabbing is a habit. If Osinbajo can backstab Tinubu, he can definitely backstab Buhari after 2023,” Omokri said.

However, Tinubu was quick to disown Osinbajo when asked for his comments on his godson’s declaration for the presidency.

Tinubu said, “I don’t have any son grown up enough to make such declaration.

“The fact that we have people in our party that express desire to lead the party into the highest office in the electoral contest shows how much this our party has resonated with Nigerians and our party members.”
