A girl identified as Winnie, who was believed to have died and buried two years ago has returned to her parents’ house at Masala town in Ndola, Zambia.
Winnie, who reportedly died of an illness and her body was deposited in the morgue before she was buried at Mitingo cemetery returned home on Monday.
She reportedly told her family that it was a banana tree that was buried and not her.
Reports said hundreds of residents gathered at the Central Police where the girl and her parents are waiting for an approval to conduct a DNA test on her.
Winnie’s death certificate and birth certificate have been tendered to the police to assist in the investigation.
