The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed that four suspected members of a motorcycle theft syndicate will soon be arraigned in court following their arrest and the recovery of a stolen motorcycle.

The arrests are connected to an earlier police operation that resulted in the interception of two stolen motorcycles within the state.

In a statement released on Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Abayomi Jimoh, said the suspects were tracked and apprehended after they fled Ondo State in an attempt to evade arrest.

He explained that the suspects were arrested in Edo State through intelligence-driven operations conducted by the command.

Jimoh said the arrests were a follow-up to a press briefing held on December 22, 2025, during which the police announced the dismantling of a motorcycle theft ring and the recovery of two motorcycles.

“As a result of sustained intelligence-led policing, four additional suspects have been arrested and one TVS motorcycle recovered,” he said.

The suspects were identified as Onyeka, Ekene, Sunday and Abubakar, all male.
The police spokesperson noted that preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects played active roles in the theft operation and had made useful confessional statements.

He added that the suspects would be charged to court once investigations are concluded.

Jimoh assured residents that the Ondo State Police Command remains committed to safeguarding lives and property across the state.

He further quoted the Commissioner of Police as cautioning criminal elements to desist from unlawful activities, stressing that the command would continue to track and apprehend offenders wherever they operate.

The police commissioner also directed Divisional Police Officers and tactical commanders to stay alert and sustain a strong security presence across the state to curb criminal activities.
