The Lagos State Police Command has uncovered a baby factory in the Ijegun area and rescued 10 victims, including three children.

Spokesman for the command, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this to reporters on Monday. He said the illegal centre was discovered after a tip-off last Saturday, which led officers to the location.

During the raid, police arrested the main suspect, Mariam Vincent, 35, along with two others – Orie Ruth, 23, and Ujunwa Ifeanyi, 18.

Seven adult women and three children were rescued from the compound. The adult victims were identified as Precious (24), Magdalene (25), Adaobi (23), Princess (22), Ifeanyi (25), and Amaka (26). The rescued children were Destiny (7), Miracle (5), and Success (2).

Hundeyin said, “The suspects confessed during questioning that they kidnapped their victims from different places in Lagos to run the baby factory.”

He added that all the victims are now safe and receiving proper care. The suspects will be charged in court after investigations are completed.
