The Ebonyi State Police Command has achieved another major milestone in its ongoing campaign to combat criminal activity across the state.
On 12 November 2025, officers on patrol along the Ehamufu–Nkalagu Road reportedly heard bursts of gunfire and distress calls in the area.
According to a statement from the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Joshua Ukandu, the patrol team immediately moved toward the sound of the disturbance and discovered one Ali Solomon engaged in a struggle with three armed robbers attempting to steal his motorcycle.
Upon noticing the operatives, the suspects opened fire before attempting to escape. The officers responded, neutralising one of the assailants and recovering an AK-47 rifle loaded with ten rounds of ammunition.
In a related development on 13 November 2025, a kidnapping syndicate operating around the Ezzangbo area of Ohaukwu LGA abducted one Obasi ThankGod, bound him, and left him inside a hotel toilet while demanding a ransom of ₦5,000,000.
Through intelligence-led operations, police personnel located the hideout of the kidnappers, successfully rescued the victim, and arrested three suspects: Uchenna Ogbozuru, Ebuka Ejiogu, and Chizoba Idenyi Ogwa. The suspects are in custody and will be prosecuted once investigations are concluded.
The Commissioner of Police, Ebonyi State Command, CP Adaku Uche-Anya, fdc, reaffirmed the Command’s steadfast dedication to safeguarding residents and ensuring criminals have no refuge in the state.
