Police reaffirm commitment to ensuring security during Ramadan

As Muslims commence the holy month of Ramadan, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has reiterated the commitment of the Nigerian Police Force to providing ample security across the country.

In a statement released in Abuja on Monday, the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, shared the IGP’s assurance and warm greetings to the Muslim Ummah at the onset of Ramadan.

“The Force extends the warmest greetings from the Nigeria Police Force to all Muslim Ummah across the country on the Ramadan season, a time of reflection, spiritual growth, and communal solidarity which holds great significance for millions of Muslim faithful around the world,” the statement conveyed.

During this sacred period, the Nigeria Police reaffirms its dedication to ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of all citizens.

Recognizing the importance of respecting religious practices and cultural traditions, the Police emphasizes the promotion of tolerance, understanding, and unity within the diverse society.

The IGP encouraged the Muslim Ummah to embody the spirit of compassion, generosity, and forgiveness that characterizes Ramadan.

He called for unity, mutual support, the fostering of harmony, and the building of stronger bonds of friendship and cooperation throughout the holy month and beyond.

While urging the public to embrace the concept of community policing, the Inspector-General appealed to Nigerians to support the efforts of the Nigerian Police Force in maintaining peace and order throughout the month of Ramadan.

The IGP concluded by encouraging all members of the Muslim Ummah to appreciate the blessings of Ramadan and strive to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
