A total of 17 police officers at Zone 10 Sokoto were proudly adorned with their new ranks, in a momentous ceremony held on Thursday, marking a significant milestone in their careers.
Lawal Daura, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, presided over the proceedings in Sokoto, and he shed light on the basis for these promotions.
He noted, “The promotions were based on the recommendation of the acting Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, and the approval of the Police Service Commission.”
Daura stated, “Out of the 17 officers, three Superintendents of Police were elevated to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police, while two Deputy Superintendents of Police were promoted to Superintendent of Police. The remaining 12 officers, who held the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police, were advanced to Deputy Superintendent of Police.”
Daura also praised the officers for their unwavering dedication and commitment to their duties.
He conveyed the warm wishes of the acting IG and urged the newly promoted officers to approach their new roles with increased commitment and professionalism.
Daura reminded them that their new ranks come with added responsibilities and emphasized the importance of discipline, loyalty, and hard work in fulfilling their duties.
Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, Chief Superintendent of Police Muhammad Tahir expressed their profound gratitude for the recognition.
He extended his appreciation to the acting IG, the Police Service Commission, AIG Daura, and his management team for deeming them deserving of the promotions.
Tahir assured everyone that the newly promoted officers would redouble their efforts to fulfill their responsibilities with dedication and commitment.
