The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Dalijan, has promoted 160 police officers in Zamfara State.
The promotion is part of efforts to increase the morale and motivation of officers fighting insecurity in the region.
On Friday, at the state police command headquarters, CP Mohammed Dalijan decorated the newly promoted officers with their new ranks. This move aims to recognize their past efforts and encourage them to face ongoing security challenges with renewed dedication.
CP Dalijan addressed the officers, saying, “You have to thank God for the elevation. This promotion is to change the way you do your things, the way you think, the way you plan, and operate. It reflects your new rank. To whom much is given, much is expected.”
He added, “We are going to give you new roles that will reflect your new rank. You have to pray hard because there are a lot of expectations. We expect better performance and better crime-fighting strategies.”
The promotion includes 84 Assistant Superintendent of Police II (ASP II) who were promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP I) and 76 Inspectors who were elevated to the rank of ASP II.
CP Dalijan urged the newly promoted officers to enhance their efforts in fighting banditry and emphasized that their new ranks come with greater responsibilities.
