Police probe murder of retired Brigadier General

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command is investigating the murder of retired Brigadier General Uwem Harold Udokwe of the Nigerian Army.

The tragic incident took place in Abuja on Saturday.

According to the Daily Post, General Udokwe was killed by gunmen suspected to be armed robbers. The attack occurred around 3 am at his residence in Sunshine Homes Estate.

The Police Public Relations Officer,
SP Josephine Adeh, released a statement confirming the attack. She said, “Upon the receipt of the report of the incident, the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth C. Igweh, ordered a thorough and discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding this regrettable event.”

CP Igweh expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased and assured the public of swift justice. He stated, “The perpetrators of the atrocious act would be apprehended and brought to justice.”
