The newly appointed New Media Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, CSP Aliyu Giwa, has pledged to live up to the confidence placed in him by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, assuring that he will carry out his duties with commitment and integrity.

Giwa, who has assumed duty as the Force New Media Officer, expressed profound appreciation to the IGP for entrusting him with the role, describing the appointment as a responsibility he considers both significant and honourable.

Looking back on his career within the police force, Giwa stressed that true leadership should be measured by personal character rather than by the positions individuals occupy.

“I have walked this path long enough to know that appointments do not make men, character does,” he said, while acknowledging that the new role carries profound personal significance.

He further praised the Inspector-General for selecting him for the position, stating that the trust reposed in him would inspire him to serve the nation with diligence.

“You reached into the ranks of this great Force and said ‘him’. I will spend every day of this appointment proving that you were right — not for validation, but because Nigeria deserves nothing less than my absolute best,” Giwa said.

According to him, the various assignments and experiences he has gathered throughout his policing career have equipped him for the responsibility now placed on him.

“Every posting, every challenge, and every season that tested my resolve prepared me for such a time as this. I stand here today not in arrogance but in the quiet confidence of a man who knows where he has come from and where he is going,” he added.

The senior police officer also extended appreciation to his family, colleagues, and supporters for their continued encouragement and prayers throughout his journey.

“I am grateful to everyone who has celebrated me, prayed for me and encouraged me. Your belief in me is a fuel I do not take for granted,” he said.

Giwa assured Nigerians that he fully understands the weight of the task before him and is prepared to discharge his duties responsibly.

“The work ahead is serious. The responsibility is immense. And I am ready,” Giwa stated.
