The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two men for breaking into several shops and stealing valuable items in Ijebu Ode.
The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday, at around 4:00 am.
According to the PUNCH, the owner of one of the affected shops, Omotayo Segun Orojo, informed the police that he received a call from a security guard named Mr. Usman at 1:14 am. Usman notified Orojo that his shop, located along Rolak Junction in Imowo, Ijebu Ode, had been broken into and items had been stolen.
Upon rushing to his shop, Orojo discovered that not only his shop but also others in the area had been targeted. Items stolen from the shops included an air conditioner, a gas-refilled can, evaporator pipes, a refrigerator capacitor, and an air conditioner installation plate.
The two suspects arrested in connection with the burglary were identified as Onitilor Idris, 28, and Okanlawon Sunday, 27. They were apprehended with the help of people in the neighborhood.
The spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrests and stated that investigations are ongoing. She said, “Investigations are ongoing and further developments will be communicated.”
