The Ogun State Police Command has begun an investigation into the death of former Ogun State Television (OGTV) broadcaster, Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard, whose bodies were discovered at her residence in Iyana Agodo Village, located in the Owode-Egba area of the state.

Confirming the incident on Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed that officers were alerted after a resident reported unusual activities around the property. The report prompted a swift response from law enforcement personnel, who visited the residence to assess the situation.

According to Babaseyi, initial observations at the scene indicated signs of a break-in and evidence that the premises had been disturbed. Investigators subsequently discovered the body of the security guard at his duty post before finding the remains of the retired broadcaster inside her apartment.

The police spokesman also revealed that Oyesiku’s vehicle was missing from the compound, a development that has heightened suspicions that the deaths may be linked to criminal activity.

He stated, “Police detectives were immediately deployed to the scene, where preliminary assessment revealed signs of forced entry and disturbance.

“During a thorough search of the premises, the corpse of the security guard was discovered within the security post, while the body of Ms Oyesiku was later found inside her apartment.

“The victim’s vehicle was also observed missing from the premises.”

Babaseyi said the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, has directed detectives to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the case. He added that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend those behind the incident.

As part of the investigation, intelligence-driven operations and surveillance activities have been expanded to key locations to aid the search for suspects and facilitate the recovery of the missing vehicle.

The police command extended its sympathies to the bereaved families, the management of OGTV, and members of the media community, describing the incident as a tragic loss.

Residents were also encouraged to remain calm and support the investigation by providing any information that could assist law enforcement authorities.

In a related development, PUNCH Metro reported in September 2025 that the Federal Capital Territory Police Command confirmed the killing of an ARISE News Channel presenter, Somtochukwu Maduagwu, and a security guard during an attack by suspected armed robbers in the Katampe area of Abuja.

ARISE News Channel, while announcing Maduagwu’s death, stated that armed robbers had invaded her residence, resulting in her killing.

Police later disclosed that 11 suspects connected to the attack were arraigned before a Federal Capital Territory court in January on charges bordering on criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, and murder.
