The Police Command in Anambra State, along with the Joint Task Force, has recovered three unexploded improvised explosives and two abandoned vehicles during a raid on a criminal camp in Ihiala.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the operation in a statement on Saturday in Onitsha. He said the raid was part of a coordinated effort based on gathered security intelligence.
“The joint security forces conducted a planned operation and busted a criminal camp,” Ikenga explained. “We recovered three unexploded improvised explosives, two abandoned vehicles, and some explosive materials like copper wires and fuel.”
The operation took place in the Lilu, Mbosi, and Isseke areas of Ihiala Local Government Area. Ikenga noted that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Nnaghe Itam, has instructed the operatives to maintain their efforts.
“The commissioner assured the people of Anambra of our commitment to ensuring safety and security in the state,” Ikenga added. “We will continue to dominate and deny criminal elements the opportunity to cause harm.”
