A lady has called out the police for allegedly harassing a nursing mother and her two-month-old baby at their home in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
The lady, identified as @thacutearies on Instagram, shared a video of the incident on Instagram.
She alleged that the policemen stormed the compound in Owerri without warrant or identification to arrest the woman’s husband over suspicion he was a fraudster. However, the man was not at home so the policemen decided to arrest the mother and child.
Sharing a video of the incident, the lady wrote:
“Nigeria Nigeria

WuzupNigeria reports that personnel of the Nigeria Police Force have been known for their brutality against the citizens. In April, a policeman brutalised a student a Delta State University for owning an “expensive” iPhone. His reasons? He had worked for over 13 years but cannot afford any expensive phone talk less of an iPhone.
In June, 47-year-old Ebi Egori, on her Twitter handle, @phcsocialmedia, accused officers of the IGP Monitoring Unit of assault and murder. She also claimed to have been sexually assaulted and her 21-year-old son killed by the officers.
The post reads;
”47-year-old Mrs. Ebi Egori is calling on the Inspector General of Police to take action against officers of the IGP Monitoring Unit for sexually assaulting her and extra-judicially killing her 21yr old son I’m her presence during a raid at her home in Aluu, Ikwerre LGA.”
