The Oyo State Police Command has rescued an Egyptian man who was kidnapped in Alomaja, Oluyole Local Government Area, less than 24 hours after the abduction.

The Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Adewale Osifeso, announced this in a statement on Tuesday, praising the swift operation as “a testament to the outstanding efforts of our dedicated officers and inter-agency collaboration.”

He explained that the mission was ordered by the Commissioner of Police, CP Femi Haruna, who mobilised officers from the 4 PMF Ibadan, intelligence and tactical units, alongside local vigilantes and support from the Ogun State Police Command.

According to Osifeso, the victim was traced to forests and border areas between Oyo and Ogun States, where he was rescued without harm. He also confirmed that no ransom was paid.

“The victim will be reunited with his family after undergoing necessary medical checks at the Police Hospital, Eleyele,” Osifeso said.

The Command urged residents to stay alert and quickly report suspicious movements through its emergency numbers, assuring the public of its commitment to safety and peace across the state.
