The Nigeria Police Force has moved the deadline for obtaining tinted glass permits to August 12, 2025, after considering public feedback about the application process.
Police Inspector-General Kayode Egbetokun announced the extension on Saturday through Force spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi. The decision aims to make the permit system more user-friendly while police review both technical and policy aspects of the process.
“The Force has listened to Nigerians,” the statement read. “Public concerns have helped shape ongoing improvements to ensure the system remains secure and accessible to all.”
The extension will allow police to upgrade both physical and digital application methods, including faster verification and reduced processing times. Authorities urged citizens to only use the official portal for applications or renewals and report any cases of extortion.
