The Nigeria Police Force has denied issuing a “wanted” notice circulating online about Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo.
The notice, which went viral on social media, claimed that the actress was declared wanted by the Office of the Inspector General of Police Monitoring Unit.
In a statement shared on its official Facebook page on Thursday, the Force described the claim as false and misleading.
“FAKE NEWS ALERT! This ‘WANTED’ poster of actress Iyabo Ojo did not emanate from the Nigeria Police Force. It is false, misleading & was never posted on any official NPF platform. Disregard & stop spreading fake news,” the statement read.
The police urged the public to always verify information through official NPF communication channels before sharing or reacting to such claims.
“Verify only from official NPF channels,” the Force added.
