Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye, has been detained at the office of the Special Anti Robbery Squad in Abuja.
The embattled senator voluntarily turned himself in this morning, Tuesday, and was detained.
Melaye before going to the police station took to his Twitter handle to announce that he was going to turn himself in today after operatives laid siege to his house on Monday.
The senator was accompanied to the station by armed policemen who had laid siege to his house since yesterday.
Melaye, who went to the station in the company of few aides was reportedly detained at the SARS office immediately they arrived.
Reports said police are still in Melaye’s house, and it could not be ascertained if he will be taken to Lokoja to face the case levelled against him by the police.
